Registration

At this point in the AI manager documentation we assume you have access to an edge device with the Scailable AI manager installed. Also, you have covered all the preliminaries.
Here we describe the device registration process for any edge device running the Scailable AI manager step-by-step. We cover the following:

    (Optional) Retrieving a Scailable AI manager license.

1. Navigating to the AI manager on the device.

First things first: make sure that you are able to (remotely) access the device that is running the AI manager (see our connectivity section if you have any questions), and point a webbrowser to port (default) :8081 on the device. Afte loading you should see the following screen:
This completes step 1.
The default port 8081 is accessible through http://. For secure https:// access navigate to port 8443.
Note that when installing the AI manager on your device, depending on the device, you can either directly navigate to the AI manager from the gateway menu, or you will receive feedback regarding the location and port of the AI manager.

2. Checking the device status

Before moving on, it is wise to check the device status. You might see:
Which is a small message indicating that you will still need to register the device. You can "click to dismiss" safely, and we will explain the registration process in the next step.
If you have purchased and edge AI solution from one of our resellers, it is likely that your device is already registered and you will not see this feedback.
Furthermore, you should see:
These indicate that your device is properly connected to the internet, your browser, and that all the separate parts of the AI manager are installed and running. If you have connection problems, please see our connectivity page. If the module, daemon, or output distributor are not running, please see our advanced configuration documentation for potential troubleshooting.
With the above, you are good to go.

3. Registering your device with your Scailable account

When you are using the device for the first time, you will need to couple your device to a Scailable platform account.
If you have purchased an edge AI solution from one of our resellers, it is likely that the device already is registered; if this is the case you can skip this step.
If you think your device should be registered already, but isn't, please contact us at [email protected].

Naming your device.

At this point it is useful to provide a unique and recognizable name for your device by filling in your desired name in the Device Name field:
The device name will be useful to find your device data and to enable (mass) configuration of your edge devices from the Scailable platform.

You can now click the "Register" button. Clicking the register button will take you to the Scailable platform (see below), where you can either sign in using an existing user account, or click "Create an account" to create a new platform account.
You either apply for a new account (you will receive a trial account immediatly), or just sign in to your existing account. After signing in you can confirm the device name and the new device will be claimed for your account:

After your license is retrieved, you can click the "RETURN TO DEVICE" button to continue with the on device configuration of the AI manager on the screen presented below.
